Goblin size for large driver

Rauq
I'm 2" shorter and 50lbs lighter than you and I drive mine almost every day. I've had passengers about your size and one driver, and they report the Corbeau FX1 is snug but legroom is reasonable. They used to offer a shorter chassis; I have what used to be referred to as the extended chassis (was extended 4") but is now the standard and only length. I'm sure you could come up with roomier seats if you wanted to if you're mindful of fitting them in the chassis and next to each other.

For reference, there are three size Corbeau FX1: Pro, advertised for 36" waist, regular, 38", and wide, 42". DF doesn't offer the wide seat anymore due to fitment issues in the chassis.

Awesome, that's great intel. Well, I am looking at 2 used ones from the forum currently. I will find out what chassis they have. The seats are less concern to me, worse case I change them. But the length is important. Do you have a picture of you sitting in the car?

Best I got on-hand. You may be able to find a Goblin near you, although this list doesn't stay super up-to-date: https://dfkitcar.com/forum/index.php?threads/official-builders-thread-where-are-you-located.3418/

I'm 6'3" and 275 lbs and with the correct seats there's lots of legroom. I have the Jegs aluminum seats in 18 inch width and fit like glove, with enough headspace to wear a helmet. As far as shoulder room, let's just say it's a good thing a Goblin doesn't have windows. It's Cessna 150 cockpit tight.
Another Arizona builder @AZmoto is 6'8" and he uses Kirkey 17 inch seats and fits in his Goblin, but really tight.

6'3" and 230lbs. I have a track frame with full door bars and I'm comfortable driving it. Getting in looks a bit like reverse birth but a detachable steering wheel would help me a lot. My biggest gripe about being a bigger guy in a goblin is that 13w shoes and the cobalt pedal setup get a little tight you've got to be right on otherwise you end up just mashing all the pedals at once.

I’m 6’2”, 280lb. I have an extended track frame (extended frame is the standard nowadays), with double door bars. Detachable steering wheel is a must, and I fit great with my Kirkey 55 Series 20” wide seats (Planted brackets with 2.5” aluminum square tube spacers).

Alright, I am soon the owner of a Goblin. Now, I need space! @devianteng do you have some pictures of the Kirkey brackets? I think i need something like this as well, as low and wide back as possible.

@Rauq Unbelievable that you are 6”2 and fit so well in the car. It looks like you have a lot space. I will have the full frame soon and its less then an 1inch to the top tubes.

Not really.

a detachable steering wheel will help you get in and out. Different types of wheels can help with spacing.

I've done a horrible job keeping current on my build log. I've got more pictures on my IG (link in signature), and maybe something there. But in short, I bought a set of Planted seat brackets for a Cobalt, and mounted those in. Then I bought some 2.5" aluminum square tubing and mounted to the seat bracket. Then mounted the seats to the square tubing. It's a solid setup, and the 2.5" tube was perfect to let me set the seats just a tad above the tunnel so I could fit the 20" width Kirkey seats.
Oh, and the Planted brackets have a seat belt mounting tab that I had to cut off. Not the cheapest overall setup, but likely not the most expensive. As I'm the driver 99% of the time for my Goblin, the setup is perfect for me and that's all that matters.

I modified the Cobalt seat rails and adapted them to the ICON seat sliders. With a little welding, I think you could fab a drop bracket to work much the same and gain another inch or more vertically. Redrilling the steering shaft mounts to give room there and Shaq could even drive. Well...doubt his feet would fit in that narrow space.
