turning a welding table into swiss cheese

Somewhere around 2012 i initially built this 4x8 welding table. it has 8 receiver sections on the corners for my various accessories like vises, tubing bender, bench grinder, spot welder, tubing roller, throat-less shear etc. it initially had a 1/4 plate for the top. ~2016 I replaced the 1/4 plate with 1/2 plate.

I always wanted a true fixture table but those were well outta my price range. along comes fireball tools and my desire only increased but my budget for one did not. I bought a mag drill back around 2012 to make my own with 5/8 holes but just never got around to it. I am kind of glad because fireball introduced a "new" standard of 3/4 holes and also a drill jig for making DIY tables. the fixtures are still costing a fortune but after 4 days of drilling holes. . .i do not at this time intend to do the WHOLE of the table.

turns out I have other uses for some of the 5/8 bits i had invested in previously. also Harbor Freight has clamps for a whole $3 that are easily modified and usable in the 5/8 or 3/4

here is a nifty little feature I added to my Ellis bandsaw for using the F-clamps to hold itty bitty things needing cut. my DIY lamp is fairly handy to have on the saw too. lol
