I am picking up a 2020 SS/SC that has a momo steering wheel but does not have the Steering Quick Release. Right now i dont have the goblin here because i need to go get it but i am buying stuff before it arrives.

DF is sold out of the Quick release kit, but can anyone lead me in the correct direction for an aftermarket one. I have been looking through the forums and have found contradicting posts for what will work. If i cant figure it out before it arrives i will check when it gets here and order one, but was hoping to have it waiting with all the other parts lol

If I cant find out the correct info, maybe someone has one they want to sell.

The column is still stock cobalt parts, so any quick release for a cobalt should work. Since you said yours is sc, I’m assuming the doner is 06 or 07. Mine is a 06 and these are the nrg part numbers I used. They are 6 years old now so they may or may not be abailable today:

Steering wheel
NRG short steering wheel hub SRK-177H
NRG quick release SRK-650BK
NRG wheel RST-024MB-R-Y

The one that DF supplies isn't the best QR anyways, so I wouldn't stress too much about missing out on it.

If you have a momo steering wheel, that means that you are already setup to accept a standard 6 bolt pattern and can just add in a 6 bolt quick release. The way the stack goes (for all cars, including a goblin) is factory splined steering column -> hub adapter (factory splined column to 6 bolt) -> quick release* (6 bolt to 6 bolt) -> steering wheel. *The quick release is optional.

I would recommend getting the car first, and deciding how you want to go about this. The most important thing to figure out is how you want to position your steering wheel. Adding a quick release is going to bring the steering wheel out further. NRG is probably the most popular quick release on the market and they're great for the money. I prefer splined quick releases, as I've seen a couple of the NRG/ball bearing detent ones fail and 99% of the time when you lose steering, you are going to crash. Spent a minimum of $100 on one... there's lots of cheap ones out there that are tempting. The one Russell linked is a standard quick release, but they also offer a thin quick release. You can also get a different steering wheel that has a different dish to play with steering wheel position as well. Use all of these options to dial in your wheel position. If you need it further from you, AND you want to add a quick release, your options are very limited. For me, the steering wheel position was wayyy too close to me and I had T-rex arms while trying to drive. I ended up parting the original column as far back as I could, and welding a spline for a quick release directly onto the factory column, and it's about perfect for me now.

Ya my main reason for wanting one is my back. I broke my back a could years ago so having the ability to remove the steering wheel will help me getting in and out. I may not Even need one but wanted to be prepared.

I was able to get In and out of the slingshot no issues, but didn't know compared to that, hpa much room the goblins had

One more option to add to those listed by @duthehustle93 is the DF bearing retainer and dash mounting assembly can be shortened to move the steering wheel further forward.

The center cylinder part of the assembly can be cut down an inch or so. Just need to be certain the holes are redrilled correctly in position, size, and orientation.
