V1 #403

For the upgrading, my opinion is get it running and then make changes.

This is the shortest path to getting the Goblin running. When/if you do have issues, it will be far easier to troubleshoot if you make no mods going from running Cobalt to Goblin. Once the Goblin is alive, go nuts with mods.

A month wait but the folks at JB Laser in Boise, ID did a great job. Prismatic Powder "Highland Bronze". The wheels are a factory color and it turned out to be fairly close match. Plan is to wrap all the body parts in matte white carbon fiber. Engine rehab is complete. I need to cover up the rust on the axles and install the new Clutch Masters stage 3 clutch.

That's a great color bronze. I did US Penny Vein on mine. It doesn't pop from a distance ( looks black) but in the sun up close the Vein shows.

Great progress. I believe the concensus has been the bolt-on steering arm is top hole in the front and bottom hole in the rear of the hub uprights. This is the lowest position for the tie rod end connection and seems to provide the best results to prevent bumpsteer. :D

I think it's been a while since the uprights came with 2 holes at the rear. I ordered #364 in December '21 and my uprights came with only one set of holes.

Intake manifold removed for inspection and cleanup. I've got the dual pass intercooler plate kit from ZZP to install and cores to clean up. A lot of blow by and buildup in the runners and inside of the intake. Catch can will be worked into the build.

I ran into a lot of issues later on (turbo smoking oil, and oil in the intercooler piping) because I didn't check/replace the PCV valve...its cheap insurance for when you have the car all together!!! I noticed this because your donor engine was venting the crankcase to atmosphere and they took off the PCV system. My bad PCV was allowing 20 psi air to pressurize the crankcase and was forcing oil into naughty places.
