V1 AC clutch power A5 on white multi plug

I saved this wire during the harness rework hoping through HP tuners I could use this circuit to turn on a light during WOT kind of like how the engine shuts off the compressor during WOT. I thought it would be pretty cool to have a (bye bye) light come on facing the rear similar to a third brake light. Does anyone know if this is the right place for this type of circuit or if I should be looking elsewhere. Harness is almost done so if I'm looking for this feed in the wrong place I will likely abandon the idea for the time being.

I would think it would be easier to try and use a shift light setup to accomplish what you want.

If the ac cut-off is were you want the light to cut on, you could use a 5 pin relay to turn the light on when power is cut.

I don't know if the ac cut-off point is adjustable in HPT.

Scott, it would help if your signature contained your donor car, so I can know if looking on my electrical wiring diagram is going to be of help to you.
The relay for my donor controls the AC Clutch, but would turn off the clutch during WOT, which is the opposite of what you want for a light.
If you used the normally closed contacts on a relay, then it would turn on the light during WOT, but only when the AC is turned on. Once the AC is turned off, the light would also come on. So lets say you are wiring the "AC on" signal to always be turned on. Then the light would also turn on when the key is off. So if you get power from a switched run wire, then that would solve this issue too. When the key is on, and the AC is on, and the WOT has turned off the AC clutch, the light turns on. What color light are you going to use? You wouldn't want white, yellow, red (normally used for reverse, turn and brake) or blue (usually illegal to use the cop car color)... Maybe green for go?

There are so many other things that control the AC clutch, I wouldn't count on that as being the best solution. Without the HVAC system in the car, how are you going to tell the BCM to turn on the AC (and the clutch)? Then there is the system pressure that controls the clutch. The WOT is only one small part of the entire equation. The easiest and best solution is it mount your own WOT switch on the throttle pedal. Mount it so it's only activated when you fully depress the throttle pedal.

Something like this:

If you wanted, you could wire it into the area circled in red and the other side of the switch to a close ground. That way you can use the AC clutch relay to drive any light you want. Just make sure to cut the wire at the red "X". Now that would be super simple and easy and reliable.

I think it would be possible to ground and/or close all of the other controls on the ac clutch to do what he wants, but agree there are much easier ways to get there.

Yes I was hoping HP tuners would allow these changes without getting into making the connections to tell the ecm to activate the AC. Looks to me like the highlighted circuits would or may need to be wired for AC request if it cannot be done in HP. I'll leave the wire for now as it is easy to cut out later but seems unlikely that this is the way to go. I had seen some talk on HP site about using the AC clutch control for other purposes because it was something that could be changed in the HP software and that is the only reason I was considering this modification.

Thanks for the reminder to modify my signature Ross as I am just getting started with my build I'm sure it will make getting assistance much easier.

These are about the only parameters available for the SS/SC in HP Tuners. You may have more available. These are not default values, just what I have them set to right now.

Went into to see Tim Moland's goblin over the weekend and get some ideas of space available for customizing my build. Like everyone on this forum an amazingly helpful person giving information about his build experience. Any of you who have seen his posts know how clean he keeps his car but even with wet roads offered me the opportunity to drive his car. Lol I was probably somewhat irritating to ride with as the car is so performance orientated and I pretty much stayed at or below 1/4 throttle. I have seen the posts of experienced goblin pilots on this forum loosing it on wet streets and plan on going to my grave never being the guy that wrecked someone's workmanship. Great experience and now even more anxious to get my frame so I can get started. Finished wiring harness with only 1 backtrack for a mis-wired connection (colorblindness is terrible when it comes to wiring) thankfully my lovely bride was very helpful in keeping me straight with such a bundle of grayish wires.
