V1 Auto-Manual Transmission Conversion for Paddle Shifters?

Has anyone attempted to convert the standard automatic transmission into an auto-manual transmission to allow for paddle shifters on the steering wheel? I'm looking into getting myself a Goblin and would love to be able to put some paddle shifters on. I have always wanted a sporty, quick car with paddle shifters and I think this is my best shot at one.

I'm guessing that any Cobalt transmission is not capable of this kind of conversion though and I would need to buy a different transmission. Only problem after that is would a different transmission even fit?

What are you thoughts? Is this even possible?

Thanks,
gwabo

Good Afternoon,
Working with E-Trans... so far other then setting up the actual micro switches in the steering wheel. The actual controller can be operated in a fully automatic mode or a manual mode which give you complete control of the shifting valves.

A expensive approach would be use a 2008 SAAB 9-3. Asian warner automatic transmission. It had paddle shifters,
You might get it modified by a company called Level 10. The do Volvo transmission fo the same style. The chassis may have to be modified as if you were using a F40 manual. A lot of work but a good transmission.
