Ordered kit 12-15-21, Purchased a Donor today went to Detroit loaded it up and headed home 12-16-21. Maybe backwards but sometimes that’s how it all works out. I contemplated not even buying a donor but I think I’ll be glad I did in the long run.
Donor:
2007 Cobalt SS /SC
89,000 miles
motor is hurt but came with a new ZZP LSJ shortblock.
Happy to be part of this community now!

After all we need to keep the aluminum recycling going strong. We wouldn’t want to run out of aluminum!

Been a few years since I have been able to work on the Goblin project. The good news is I finally have time again. I ended up finding another donor and purchased it. Last Friday night I pulled in the shop and started tearing it down. Have to say the build videos were very helpful in saving time. Sunday I pushed the shell out and the wrecker came and took it out of here Monday. Feels good to see that thing gone lol. Last night I was able to get everything organized and ordered all the parts that I want to replace instead of using from donor. Quite a few things actually. Going to start working on the seat harness bar addition and try and figure out anything I want cut off or added so I can get chassis coated. Any suggestions please share. Thanks for being patient with me. Great group of people here.

Ok so I ended up purchasing chassis 247 because I may try and put that chassis under the Kelmark GT in my "other builds" section. More to come on that or who knows I may just sell it. I finished the harness and that one and I will try and find the original build log and see if I can start on that log from where Michael left off.

So on to what is important! Build Log Update for chassis 387.
I decided to go F40 on this one and made the brackets for the upper driver side transmission mount. I have a tubular subframe on order and will probably end up having to fab the bottom trans brackets once I get that subframe in the chassis. I also added the roof bars and harness bars at correct height behind seats. Tomorrow I will look into the other three harness attachment points in case they need tweaking because of my height or I should say lack of lol. If anyone has chassis weld on ideas you want to share please feel free. I would like to get chassis to powder coat soon. Thanks in advance!
One thing I really like is Desert Saskqwatch has those fancy hood latches. Other things would be 6 speed shifter mounts / mounts for trans cooler / engine oil cooler / Oil breather - catch can / AEM digital dash / dash enclosure / list goes on and on.

If you are wanting to change something like tail lights or how the wing mounts (if you are running one), now’s the time to weld on brackets for that too. Even mirrors. 3rd brake light, cameras……

I would like different tailights.
I do have a nine lives wang.
Didn’t even think of camera mounts.
I searched tailights in forum but nothing came up. I somehow suck at forum searching lol.

It’s not really searchable other than looking at random pictures, like in the “finished goblin thread”. The sky is the limit though. I ended up using Honda Grom tail lights on brackets I welded to the frame.
