Okay, that's good information! Thanks!Depends on how fast you're going and where you are. I took it to a small rural dragstip and they basically just said "hey you're missing x, y, z but that things sweet so we'll let you run this time". They didn't like that I didn't have a spec helmet mainly. I had a good Bell road motorcycle helmet that I thought would be more than sufficient, but apparently it was not. I ran a ~12.4 @104 if I recall (supercharged 2.2 ~230hp). I'm not sure I would be allowed to go much faster without a full cage. That's something I plan on exploring further after I get it all back together and break into the 10s/11s
I've signed up for the Carolina drag cruise this summer. Which is a drag week/sick week drag and drive event. I was told I would be treated like a dragster for tech purposes. Fire suit, helmet, gloves, arm restraints, water only in the cooling system, engine blanket or catch tray, up to date harnesses, and they asked if I could make a shield between me and the overflow tank.

I live in Florida and tried to get into sick week but when sign up opened it filled up before I got home from work. Carolina drag cruise became the next best option because its a) only $100 to enter plus hotels b)1/8 mile tracks c)shorter drives d)I have family in Charlotte so I'll get a chance to see them too. Oh and there is rumors that we are hitting tail of the dragon on one of the drive days. The non weather related down side to a goblin on this type of event is you are pretty much stuck in unlimited class because its a tube chassis.Good to know. I plan on doing a drag and drive next year. This year would be cool, but is a stretch

Based on mileage I'd guess it's actually Caesars Head, a trip from Union County Dragway to Tail of the Dragon to Shadyside is 371 miles and they're advertising "The Cruise" as 150.Oh and there is rumors that we are hitting tail of the dragon on one of the drive days.
I'm glad you figured that out because I was wondering how a bunch of drag cars with locked differentials were gonna go up the dragon.Based on mileage I'd guess it's actually Caesars Head, a trip from Union County Dragway to Tail of the Dragon to Shadyside is 371 miles and they're advertising "The Cruise" as 150.
I'm still planning on saying hi at Greer Dragway!

Thanks! It should go a bit deeper with out the clutch slipping like crazy.Thats a quick time!
Did they have any concerns about a firewall or anything like that? How much power are you making?my local track can be pretty tough on tech. ultimately they decided since the sides are pretty high and since I had arm restraints that I would be "safer than some guy in a cobra kit car" I wasn't able to put a very fast time down, the clutch didn't like the second gear wheelie much. 11.44@122
The car makes around 400whp, at 24psi. The 11.46 pass was on lower boost, I think 16 or 18 psi. The clutch still wasn't fully holding the power. I would imagine it has a mid or high ten in it. I made a bunch of changes this winter; 4.17fd F23 with a Quaife lsd, fx500 clutch & lightened flywheel, ZZP cams & valve springs. And a few other not as much reliability mods.Did they have any concerns about a firewall or anything like that? How much power are you making?
