Is this the EBCM connector? If so I have two sets of tan w/tan-blk wires. Does it matter which I use?

what does the ECM connector look like?

BCM = body control module
EBCM = electronic brake control module (ABS as Ross mentioned)

the EBCM connector would’ve been on the ABS module under the hood, driver side.

EBCM to ECM data.jpeg

Find the DATA wire that runs from the ECM connector to the EBCM connector and cut it near the EBCM connector as shown in the image.

Later on, you will have a DATA wire on the dash harness coming from the BCM that will get connected to this one.

For you base model guys that are about to read this you will have a DATA wire that runs from the ECM to the BODY/ENGINE harness connector and then back out of the BODY/ENGINE connector. It will eventually get hooked to the dash DATA wire coming from the BCM.

Lonnie, just confirming that the photo I showed was the ECM connector (the blue connector?) I believe it is as the other set of tan/tan-blk wires went to the XM or OnStar unit.

Your blue connector looks different than the one in the videos/Lonny’s image. The locking mechanism is different. I’d say that isn’t the ecm or bcm connector, but I’m not sure if they differ between donors. Post up a picture of your bcm and ecm (if you’re auto then include your tcm).

Lonnie and R3drckt. Thank you for the help, I'm pretty confident I go it straight.
Does anyone have a photo handy of the ECM?
