Be careful, your donor is a '09 SS/TC. You can use the knuckles from other trims and model years without issue but you will need different parts from DF for the rear brakes. Ask me how I know.

Were your steering knuckles/hub uprights (names used interchangeably) broken or damaged? As @Ark :D stated, the TC donor parts are different than the other Cobalt model donor parts. The lower ball joint mounting hole in the TC is larger (0.805 inch) than the others (0.750 inch). The uprights have to mate to the TC LCAs (lower control arms) that have a TC specific ball joint with the larger diameter stub.

BUT, the non-TC hub uprights could be modified by drilling out the lower ball joint hole larger - from the 0.750 inch to 0.805 inch size - if you are using the TC LCAs. The other item @Ark :D mentioned is the brakes being different, based on the caliper mounting holes locations. DF will/has supplied the calipers specific for the TC application.

Keep us informed what you plan to do and ask questions - we are here to help.

Curious to know the backstory here.....

There's not a whole lot to it. One of my LCA's was damaged in the accident that totaled my donor (an '08 TC). I tried to source a proper replacement several times, each time being assured I was "buying the right part", and each time being disappointed that the ball joint was too small. So, since I had a pile of donor parts from a '07 SC, including a pair of knuckles, I just sourced a new pair of LCA's for that model year instead. Everything just works, except the shims included in the kit for the rear brakes need to be matched with the '07 SC instead of the '08 TC. Josh will have the same issue if he goes with the easier-to-get knuckles/LCA's from the non-TC trims.

*edit* Funny enough, selling the '08 TC knuckles on FB Marketplace more than covered the cost of the new LCA's. When I listed them, I put in the listing: "These are from an '08 TC, and will only fit other TC model years or the HHR SS. Do not buy these for a NA or a supercharged Cobalt, they will not fit! Know what you're buying!" but the guy that bought them didn't listen. I got contacted a month later by an angry guy saying I sold him bad knuckles, there was slop in his steering and nothing would tighten up.

So I need to find these specific to the SS/TC? Does anyone have a part number/link by chance? I haven't found anything specific to the SS/TC as of yet.

No, I just didn't keep them. I didn't realize I threw them away. It happened before with other parts. Just a bone head move by not thinking about what I was doing at the time.

You'll need two; both sides. I'd compare that part # against other listings for non-TC parts, they should NOT be the same. Not to be a Debbie Downer, but I don't think it's going to be this easy.
