V1 Rear caliper leaking from parking brake lever?

W
This is the first issue I've run into with my build that searching the forum did not yield anything. I'm pretty sure a replacement caliper is in the future, but I wanted to see if anyone else had run into this before. I went to bleed my brakes tonight. I hooked up my power bleeder and after getting fluid to all four corners, my rear right caliper started leaking. BAD. Like almost a steady stream at 10psi on the power bleeder.

Upon inspection, it wasn't at either the valve or the banjo but coming from under the parking brake lever. I had my calipers powder coated and could not disassemble the levers, so they were coated as well. My rear left does not leak at all.

I know there is a seal under the parking brake lever, but I have no idea how to replace it or if it's even serviceable. Any ideas? Or is it a new caliper and back to the powder coater?

I would bet powder got in there and messed up the seal. Could be the heat from the oven, but you would think it could handle it, seems how braking should cause more heat than the oven. Either way, if you can find a rebuild kit, it’s not that hard to do, but a new caliper would probably be best.

I appreciate it! I already purchased a new caliper from RockAuto. I'll install it w/o powder and rebleed to make sure the driver's side doesn't have the same issue. I'll have the coater make sure to mask off around the lever this time as well.

Man, I was really hoping to get it on the ground, align it and get it out for a first drive this weekend. I knew the build was going a bit too smoothly. Something was bound to come up!

Thank you!

I may go that route in the future but paint matching to the front calipers will be impossible. The calipers, frame, suspension and wheels are Illusion Blue, so the color changes depending on the lighting, which I really like. If I do it over, I'll just go silver on the calipers. The illusion colors require two oven cycles (base and clear) which may have contributed to this issue in the first place.
