I have the speedometer apart what do y’all think about just using black paint on the things that will lite up instead of using tape to cover them up

There are several other options that would look better:

• Place tape or other light blocking material behind the black plastic so the light will not shine through
• Cut the traces on the circuit board (another member her has details on what to cut)
• Turn off the lights via HP tuners / other programmers / etc.

What specific lights are you looking to turn off?

Low tire,abs, seat belt, air bag, car lock, traction control. I just don’t want lights to be on.

I'd recommend against doing anything permanent, like paint. You can remove electrical tape later, paint not so much.

You will also have a brake light on (no indication for low brake fluid or parking brake) and messages in the information center you cant get rid of by covering the bulbs.

I’m having trouble ordering one, First it ask for make but it only has Ford and Mercury then further down it ask for the frame number does that mean they want the vin number

You don't need to enter a year make or model. Simply find the product, enter your frame number (189) in the box as requested and add to cart.

Just put frame number and it works great. They need to put GOBLIN FRAME NUMBER

4D Tech web site is messed up.... order it from DF... maybe they have it for the Cobalt.
