V1 Turbo Gasket/Spacer

My k04 turbo is getting replaced with a z54. The turbo is too big for the stock gasket. I need an extra 1/4" of space so it can mount up. Any ideas where to buy one?

I didn’t have any issues mounting my z57 to the stock ko4 exhaust manifold with the stock gasket. Where is the turbo making contact?

I did not have issues mounting the Z54, I used a new gasket.

The turbo appears slightly too big for the space and is rubbing against the manifold. The installer says it needs 1/4" spacer

I would go look for myself the Z54 uses the K04 housing doesn't it??

remove the heat shield from the manifold?

Ya remove the heat shield. Maybe that’s where it’s making contact? The z54 uses the same housing as the K04. But I do believe you can still clock the cold side of the turbo which may be what is contacting the manifold.

Here is a pic of mine. Heat shields need to be removed and are not used. As r3drckt said the compressor side of the turbo just barely clears the manifold without shields.

The Z54 outlet has a V band flange on it, did you just cut it off or grind it down to be able to get that straight fitting on?

No grinding to the turbo or fitting. I just pushed hose down to the v-band clamp the next clamp close to the frame actually secures the hose to the outlet. The Z54 can be clocked to point in the location mine is. From ZZP it points straight into the rear frame tube.
