I'd roll the dice on this before I welded the diff. I am running one, but I did pick up a hardware kit from this guy and replaced the belleville washers and bolts, and the helical gears were backwards so I flipped them. But it's held up great for me for 2 years, and a trans fluid change at the end of year 1 yielded bright red fluid, so no reason to think it's not living a happy life in there. I don't see the point in welding the diff when you can get an LSD that lays down a pair of black lines but also lets you turn easily.
And that Mustang is where today? I hope we can meet on Hot Rod Power Tour's stop in Nashville! I believe I'll be driving GOB-BALT; unless this project kicks my ass in a bad way!
