The second smaller exhaust is plumbed to the waste gate.
Some people plumb this into the main exhaust, and run it thru a muffler,
but if you want to hear the waste gate... this is the way to go. Turbo noises are great!
By chance did you make that flange or find one for sale on some sight? I’m thinking about making a pipe similar to yours and wasn’t sure if anyone had pre-made faces to weld up to.You mean something like this? The assembly of this exhaust is in my build log.
Wastegate is not spool up. It’s the woosh when you let off the throttle.
Let me be more clear: the O2 housing is a stainless ZZP purchase. The flange on the muffler, that attaches to the O2 housing, is what I fabricated from 1/4 inch stainless plate (burned up a couple 3 inch hole saws). The 'muffler is a Dynomax 6 inch body fiberglass pack and the tip is a dual wall bought off Amazon. The vortex cones welded into the 'muffler' and tip are from ZZP. It meets my needs for a custom exhaust that fits into the frame modifications I made that would not allow the stock DF exhaust to be installed.Fabricated the flange from 1/4 stainless. The 'muffler' and tip are stainless, with dual stainless vortex inserts to make it 'quiet'.![]()
Lets be real, turbos are muffling devices. Plus, get those exhaust gases out of the way asap!custom exhaust that fits into the frame modifications I made that would not allow the stock DF exhaust to be installed.![]()
I found the easiest way to get a short stubby exhaust is to buy a flange and then weld a couple pipes together. It worked well but I didn't like how short it was so I added a tip to extend it out a little and make it a little wider plus it gives it a nice angle.I like this short stubby exhaust, but I am not sure what the second smaller exhaust is above it, does anyone know?
