Front splitter installation and reviews

Only the highest quality scoop. Perfect for mounting three inches above the road, though.

Exactly :D It can take a hit though. There are 2 little mounting points around the center that I dropped screws into.

Got my splitter finished up today.
Using supports really firms it up! Before adding them it was possible to push down on it and see it flex.

I had custom pins made that utilize the tow bar mount. Using the retaining pins on the top will allow them to be removed easily when I tow the car. (Which isn’t often)

I take it the tow bar mount simply bolts directly onto the front of the heim joint using the new SHCS through the upper mount? Is that bolt provided by DF with the tow bar kit? Wondering if I can find out the specs of the these bolts so I can source/buy a couple.

I'm debating making a bracket that installs the same way but is maybe more of just a flat piece with another mounting point for the front supports.

Yes, DF supplied longer bolts with the Tow Bar kit to mount those.

Figured I'd finally get around to posting my different solution to the problem. I really really wanted to keep my hinge hood... so I added another hinge. The rear of the splitter has hinges that allow it to fall down when you undo the turnbuckles. I copied @Sluggonaut 's design for the turnbuckles, hooking into the towbar chain hook spot. This allows enough clearance to hinge the hood open. Best of both worlds!

Did you set the ride height with your equivalent weight in the driver's seat? With your weight in the seat, the driver's side LCA will no longer be level as they are set now. You may want to consider readjusting again at some point to account for this.

Wow! You can plow your garden with those brackets! Too expensive and overkill for use.

You said your front end was bouncy on your drive home? Maybe too much tire pressure or your shocks are set wrong on bump and rebound. How many clicks are they from soft?

I got my splitter/spoiler installed tonight and dropped the car down to where the LCA's are almost level with the ground. I'll dial it in better, once I do the alignment, which I'm nervous AF about!

I have a camber gauge and the gauge to do the caster that you can borrow so if you end up not being able to do it, then you are not out $100 in useless tool. Then, after you see how easy it is, you can procure your own gauges. All you need is 2 long PVC pipes, string and 4 jack stands to do the toe.

A big thanks to Talon Garage! Winter project for #403. Splitter with intercooler cutout weighs 20lbs 6.8 oz.
