V1 Stretch’s ext. track goblin #386 SS/TC

That crack in the divider for the twin scroll turbo setup shouldn't harm anything. Every used turbo Ecotec exhaust manifold I've seen has it.
Thanks that makes me feel a bit better lol. I figured it wasn’t that harmful since it was internal but it’s still new to me.

Wellll don't let the fact that it's internal necessarily give you the warm and fuzzies... imagine what a piece of that might do if it were to come off and blow into your turbo while it's at 100k rmps lol. Not saying I think this is going to happen...

But mine too has that cracking... heck maybe worse than yours. I think mine had a couple different cracks in there.

I'm just glad to see it’s not uncommon. Im sure down the road I’ll find another exhaust but it’ll work for now. I find it strange that it’s where the manifold and hot side of the turbo meet. I’ve seen where people online have them crack higher up and have leaks.

Just waiting on the frame so far and selling some parts off the donor. The motor is getting a bath today.

It’s a good day today. First stage is in and I’ve started on prepping parts for powder coating. Luckily my dad has his own powder business so I saved a trip. I know how I’ll be spending my weekends for now.

First day of building in the books. Got the chassis back from the powder shop and decided to go after the main hoses. Turns out that a steel braid dog leash/tie down works great. It just hurts your hands after a while. I have a video and a Timelapse so I’m going to try to edit those to something viewable later.

Made a little progress this weekend. I caught some kind of flu or bug for a couple days but I was able to get the fuel tank in with the radiator and steering unit. I’m in the process of painting/powdering the pedal boxes so those will hopefully be in sometime this week. I figured I’d throw the wheels around one side to mock up what it will look like.

You need to put a seat in and make vroom vroom noises.

Got the harness in the car and the engine harness wrapped around the engine. The pedal boxes are finally in after a couple attempts at painting them. The one negative is that in the process I broke the clutch safety sensor so I already have one on the way. Getting closer to fire slowly but surely.

They have to be programmed. I broke on arm off mine. I JB welded it back on and it is holding great.

So I kind of had my first start today. I connected the battery terminals and turned the key to see if the fuel pump would pick up fuel and not leak out of the lines I made. Good news is they didn’t. So next I made sure the car was in neutral and pressed the clutch in to see if it would at least crank. It fired on the first turn and spun the one axle I have in the transmission(to keep the new fluid in) and kicked my old coolant tank across the floor. Now I’m just waiting for the second stage so I can let it run for more than half a second lol.

Threw on the charge pipes and intake plumbing. Just waiting on a MAP tube to lock everything down. The brake relocation kit is on and the hubs are coming together. It should be able to roll once the calipers get powdercoated and the strut spacers come in.

Does anyone have a preference with cooling the heat exchanger? Like the fan over the ductwork or vice versa? I plan on doing a bit of everything with the car and wasn’t sure if one outweighed the other when it comes to “spirited” driving.

Ark :D
I don't like the look of the NACA ducts, though some people have done fine work to get them on the inside of the hood and looking good. I just use the fan ... but I live in PA, much more mild temperatures typically than what you'll deal with in FL. Also, I don't autocross.

I believe @JBINTX installed both the ducts AND a fan.
