Donor:
2007 Cobalt SS

Car was VERY clean and had only side damage – no front end damage. See picture of how clean the subframe was before powder coating.
Car ran and drove well with no issues at all prior to disassembly.

Engine:
ZZP Stage 2 installed by previous owner – Siemens 60# injectors, 2.9” supercharger pulley, dual pass plate, ZZP stainless header. 260+HP

DFG short throw shifter included
DFG exhaust modified with secondary O2 sensor bung welded in. Can be blocked off if not needed.

Here is how far I got with the build:
Wiring harness is complete. Everything soldered and heat shrink tubing installed (not heat shrink butt connectors). DVOM verification throughout process to verify continuity and resistance.

Everything that I have done so far has been done with the utmost attention to detail

Sorry to see this for sale, hopefully it will go to a good home and get completed. Hope your family issues get resolved quickly. Best of luck and hoping you can try again sometime in the future - a V2 maybe?

Really not interested in having anyone finish it. I've decided that it has to go.

Thanks, Anesthetist. I believe that it is a great deal, as well. I definitely have more than that invested, and lots of "free labor" on what I've done so far. Especially that #%@* wiring harness!! Honestly, it's about to the point where stuff starts to get fun after much of the boring and tedious junk is out of the way...

Cannot understand how this has not sold yet?!? This is the ideal Goblin for someone wanting to experience the joy of building, but not all of the dirty/messy preliminary prep work that has already been done. There has to be someone out there lurking on the side looking for this stage of a Goblin build to jump in and do the bolt together and still have the pride of building it yourself?

I didn't say that I can't understand why it didn't sell yet. I said that I expected more interest.

Fact is, I would have absolutely gone this route instead when I was ordering. No waiting, a lot of the dirty preliminary work is out of the way, and it wouldn't take nearly as long to get on the road.

I think @Desert Sasqwatch is saying HE cannot understand why it hasn’t sold.

anyway, have you tried the Facebook pages? Even the cobalt SS pages on there too. I see people mention goblins a decent amount. Might gain some traction there for people that like the cobalt platform but don’t know about the goblin.

good luck! Sad to see a fellow builder in Ohio sell.

Price reduced to $17K. No need to get a donor, dismantle donor, or complete anything else that I've already completed (including the PITA wiring harness). You could probably have this DF Goblin on the road in a month...

Would you consider swapping the supercharger plus get some extra cash? I have one working just fine but not ported.

I’ve had several PM’s asking the same questions, so I am posting additional information:

The donor was a 2007 Cobalt SS in very good condition with only side damage, so nothing used was affected at all. It only had 95.5K miles and ran great before disassembly. It had a Stage 2 kit installed by the previous owner. Parts were purchased from ZZP Performance – all high quality parts. It was done right and included an ECU / ECM tune from ZZP. Stage 2 on an LSJ engine should be 260+HP according to what I’ve read. So, yes – Everything was set up correctly and running very strong. I was going to reuse the Cobalt SS seats because they are so comfortable, and they are included. I had not picked out wheels and tires, so they are not included. But that is probably a good thing because most people would prefer to pick out their own wheel and tire combo.

Current state of build is as seen in pics. Engine was never disassembled. I only removed the valve cover to clean and paint it, and to look at the condition under the valve cover. As stated, it is extremely clean. It was obviously well taken care of with only Mobil 1 oil used. Kit comes with many new "maintenance" parts like new water pump, timing set, gaskets, etc. to freshen up before installation. Engine has not been worked on at all and ran excellent prior to removal.

Price: I’ve got well over $20K invested to-date. I also have a lot of my time on what has been done so far. Especially on the wiring harness. I obviously don’t expect to get paid for my time and am only mentioning it because this is a huge time saver and I believe the car could be on the road in about a month. $17K for everything included is a steal.

Two men can easily pick up the frame and move it. I have attached a picture of my 5’ X 10’ small utility trailer with the frame on it coming back from powder coat – for size reference. I have a cherry picker for the engine / trans to assist with transportation. If you brought a truck pulling a trailer, you could definitely get it all in one trip.

Please let me know if you have any other questions. I work a lot of hours, so it may take me a day or two to be able to get back to you. Thank you.
