Is there any way to covert my f35 over to f40 without the conversion kit?

Sure. Gather all the parts on your own, or have the capability to machine your own parts, and modify the frame of the DF Goblin.

Swap to an F23 instead, it's significantly cheaper and easier and stronger than an F35, more than strong enough. Better gearing, too, in my opinion.

The driver's side center frame rail in the stock Goblin frame will contact the transmission case on the F40. This rail would need to be moved outboard by at least 5/8 inch to clear the transmission. Also the driver's side transmission mount is in a different location than the F35/F23 mount. It sits higher, is further inboard and has a different bolt pattern. The transmission does fit within the stock Cobalt subframe and the front transmission mount is nearly identical, but the rear transmission mount would need to be adapted to different mounting bolt locations.
