Non Power steering

In the same vein as the Factory Five 818R, has anyone thought about completely non-power steering on this car?

It's possible to do that by pulling the fuse because the cobalt has electric power steering. I believe if we wanted to fully eliminate it, that would require replacing the steering rack, but I could be wrong.

The power steering unit is quite small and not heavy (I would imagine less then 5 pounds). Here are a couple of pictures. I haven't driven a Goblin without it but with power steering it is very nice. Adam and Lonny told me that they did not have PS on their first prototype, but when they saw how nice it was they decided to use it.

Just make sure when you get your donor, the recall for the motor was done, or purchase a new one. Powell mentioned the HHR one was an upgrade but requires a tweak to fit the splines or something. He told me that some years ago so ya bad memory ;) but the time attack ss had the upgraded one as they had failures on the cobalt one...obviously ;)
