In that case, I'll let him know!

As much as I'm sure he'd like one already running; I'm pretty sure he's wanting to build one with my nephew. Some of that father/son bonding stuff.

I'll throw that on the white board. Appreciate the info!

I'll pass the info on to him. Hopefully, he sticks to one donor.

    V1 Scott - #416 SS/SC

More progress being made. The original plans were to be moose hunting starting 1 Sep, but since my better half is deploying soon I figured it was better to not leave her at home. With that said I was allowed to knock out some work on the car to free up room in the garage before snow starts to...

    Engine swaps

My brother-in-law is looking at a Goblin to build. He posed a question that I couldn't answer and can't seem to find the info searching the forums. He asked me "if I buy a NA manual donor, can I swap a supercharged 2.0 into it later?" Seems like a valid question. Which I told him to just boost...

    V1 Scott - #416 SS/SC

Progress today. Found out my clutch pedal broke on the move up. Luckily a small junk yard up here in our small ass Alaskan town had 2 manual cobalt in the yard. Judging by the build videos, tomorrow will be drive train prep day. Looking to see how much gets done tomorrow!

    V1 Scott - #416 SS/SC

I can usually get through about 4-5 straight days of going to work then coming home and working on projects before the hints of "I need attention" start.

    V1 Scott - #416 SS/SC

Lots of progress over the last week, minus a couple days off so the girlfriend doesn't feel neglected. For those of you that did the wireharness yourself, I commend you. Lots of head scratching and confusion since wiring is not my forte. But thus far all the grounds checked good on the first...

    V1 Scott - #416 SS/SC

I don't think so. Luckily the kid i bought it from had a full timing chain "kit" from zzp in the trunk. But if I can get this running before winter I plan to do a complete refresh on the motor this winter in preparation of moving away from the SC and doing a turbo build.

    V1 Wireing harness Part 9

I beleive I may have missed a step in thinning the harness. Going through the dash harness there are the 2 high-speed data wires (C5 and C6) that are still connected to the dash to body harness connecter. In the video at 2:14 the wires are still in the harness, but at 2:27 the wires are gone...

    V1 Scott - #416 SS/SC

Made some progress tonight on the harnesses. Not a big "wiring guy" but courtesy of youtube, it'll be fine. My better half is going to allow me to continue tomorrow. If all goes well I'll grab the chassis for it's home in the the big trailer tomorrow.

    V1 Scott - #416 SS/SC

Been a long time waiting. A cross country move (VA to AK), short summers, long Alaskan winters, Ecodiesel problems, Cummins problems... you name it. The struggle has been real. But! The chassis is still in my possession, and I've finally carved out some time to break back into it. Starting...

*Official Builders Thread* -- Where are you located?

Can I make an update?!?!? I had to put chassis 416 on the back burner for a while. The military was king enough to move us back to Alaska. Getting the chassis out of the garage tomorrow and the goal.is to wrap the build up before the snow hits! (Snows in October)

    Quickest build?

I'll let you know when I start mine. Won't be starting as soon as the chassis arrives due to more important things in life... spend my one full month a year with the kids.

    V1 Scott - #416 SS/SC

With the time line I have forecasted it will be roughly September before tearing the cobalt down due to my kids coming down in week (slightly excited), powder coating turn time, and getting the finishing touches on my cherokee so it will be road worthy.

    V1 Cobalt related No-Crank

That's the plan. I'm going to hang on to the old one and once the wiring is all done for the Goblin and that's running, I may throw it in to see if it goes back to what it was doing before

    V1 Scott - #416 SS/SC

For those that saw my other post... car had some starting issues a few weeks ago. After checking, replacing fuses and relays, and rechecking everything about 40 times I had to step away for a couple weeks due to some personal stuff coming up. Long story short I ended up shotgunning an ECM at...

    V1 Cobalt related No-Crank

***Update*** Well after all the testing wires, swapping fuses, and trying to sort out the issue with this car... I decided to throw an ECM at it. Ordered from eBay and it arrived yesterday. After the relearn process the car fired right up. Thanks again @Gtstorey @Ross and everyone else that...
