V1 Scott - #416 SS/SC

Trail_Creeper
Been a long time waiting. A cross country move (VA to AK), short summers, long Alaskan winters, Ecodiesel problems, Cummins problems... you name it. The struggle has been real. But! The chassis is still in my possession, and I've finally carved out some time to break back into it. Starting tomorrow progress will commence on the "race car" build!

90% of our possessions in a single photo.

Made some progress tonight on the harnesses. Not a big "wiring guy" but courtesy of youtube, it'll be fine. My better half is going to allow me to continue tomorrow. If all goes well I'll grab the chassis for it's home in the the big trailer tomorrow.

I don't think so. Luckily the kid i bought it from had a full timing chain "kit" from zzp in the trunk. But if I can get this running before winter I plan to do a complete refresh on the motor this winter in preparation of moving away from the SC and doing a turbo build.

Lots of progress over the last week, minus a couple days off so the girlfriend doesn't feel neglected. For those of you that did the wireharness yourself, I commend you. Lots of head scratching and confusion since wiring is not my forte. But thus far all the grounds checked good on the first try. With that said, harness is done. Chassis is now in the garage (first time its seen daylight since Feb '22). Probably too many pictures for one post... too bad, I'm getting excited! More to come since I'm off work until til the 7th.

Progress today. Found out my clutch pedal broke on the move up. Luckily a small junk yard up here in our small ass Alaskan town had 2 manual cobalt in the yard.

Judging by the build videos, tomorrow will be drive train prep day. Looking to see how much gets done tomorrow!

More progress being made. The original plans were to be moose hunting starting 1 Sep, but since my better half is deploying soon I figured it was better to not leave her at home.

With that said I was allowed to knock out some work on the car to free up room in the garage before snow starts to fall.

All the suspension is on, and she now sits on her own 4 wheels. Still sorting out some electrical bugs since it won't turn over. Also found out I have a couple things that were on backorder when the kit was delivered. But now there's enough room to park motorcycles behind the car during the winter.

Edit: don't make fun of my wooden strut spacers. I had to make due with that was available in the garage.

Great work! Are you planning to relocate the brake fluid reservoir? Be sure the extender hoses are 'downhill' from the reservoir to the master cylinder that can't trap air in the lines.
