Anyone able to help F35 ?

So after long health issue I’m finally getting back to assemble my kit . My question is … I’m putting new clutch in and with videos I’ve watched shows a shim between the bell and engine ? My donor did not have this so my questions are as follow .
is this shim necessary?
Can you even get replacement ?
is so anyone know where or a part number ?
does anyone know the thickness so worse case I can plasma cut a new one out ?
