If your looking for 5 point provision, don't see that either of those Corbeau seats have the seat bottom hole, unless it is hidden by a flap/pad. Many of us taller builders ended up with the aluminum one piece bucket seats, which sit lower than the reclining seats and are racing rule legal (most sanctioned bodies) when properly installed. And they are set up for the 5 point harness. The 2 inches that the aluminum seats gain makes all the difference to keep your pumpkin below the roolbar height - especially when wearing a helmet. Bonus: they are lighter than almost every reclining seat option.

You have a lot of options - the aluminum seats are one. You need to chose what works best for your (and your wife's) needs for fit and comfort. Best bet is to sit in the ones you are thinking about and see if fit in all the important dimensions. Sometimes this can be easier said than done, but beats getting a seat that you don't like and try to live with it in the long term. :)

Edit: these are the Jegs seats I purchased - 18 inch hip width (fits my big sqwatchy backside like a glove) and weigh only 12.5lbs. I also purchased the seat covers and their extra seat padding. I've sat in one for about a 45 minute stretch - they are not as comfy as a Corbeau seat, but not bad for comfort - they are shaped well to my torso dimensions.

I edited my earlier post with the information for the seats I ordered from Jegs. Also this info in my buildlog: http://dfkitcar.com/forum/index.php...k-mods-08-ss-tc-crate-lnf-f40.1003/post-88433

BTW, the Jegs aluminum seats seem to be slightly wider than the similar sized Kirkey seats - @AZmoto has the Kirkey seats and he 6'8" tall and fits into his track frame TC (tight, but he doesn't seem to have any problems). And the Jegs seats are on sale right now.

Keep in mind you will have to purchase the seat mounts too - I bought steel side mounts off Amazon for cheap and modified them slightly to fit my seat mount rails I have welded into my cockpit floor - the slightly askew rails in this photo - here is the info why they are not straight: https://www.dfkitcar.com/forum/inde...k-mods-08-ss-tc-crate-lnf-f40.1003/post-41028.

I’m 6’3 and went with the Corbeaus so my head isn’t as close to the roll bar. It’s on the side mount fixed brackets so the seat can be lower in the car rather than sliding racks. It’s a one piece seat so there’s no tilt and sliding is either an inch forward or back with three bolt hole options.

I have the normal fx1 in the passenger side and the fx1 pro? For the driver side. I have it tighter on purpose for racing and me being on the narrow side. This link should show the sizing chart. The DF brackets make them fairly easy to put in and put you lower in the car. I’m assuming DF still has them as an option for building a car so I think they should still supply the seat and brackets.

All I saw on that link was the Pro and Wide, but I don't see the normal FX1? I might have to email them? I have a 38" waist, so I was thinking the FX1 would be a better fit for me?
At the bottom there’s a size chart. The names are a little weird between standard, pro, and wide. With my experience with the pro I have a narrow waist and it’s tight but I can deal with it. I guess it depends on what you plan on doing with it.

No Corbeaus are side mounted normally. Much less metal. Here’s a poor picture but you’ll get the idea. It’s like two angled pieces that line up with the bolts on the side of the seat. If you look on the site you should see two little bolt heads on the side.

The trick to fitting tall people is getting a seat/mount that lets you nearly sit on the floor pan, and mount the seat in a more recumbent position. I'd recommend a fixed back, side mount, fiberglass seat, like the one you posted. The aluminum ones are also good options but the fiberglass ones typically have a bubble where your butt is, which drops you another 1/4-1/2" over an aluminum seat. Regardless of aluminum or fiberglass, you'll see a huge improvement of how much lower you can sit by getting rid of the reclinable seats.
