Before the blanket comes off, the work needs to be completed. 
Still have some additional fabrication to complete. A little more tweaking for form and fit and to get it looking the way I want it. Plus a little more consultation with the material source, who is a little more than busy with other activities.

Ok, the project is far enough along that I can take the blanket off.
The canards are 1/4 inch aluminum plate with bends and angles on the inside edges to align with the compound angle of the side of the nose. They are the same width as the sides of the splitter. The canards and side plates bolt to the splitter, in case removal or repairs are needed.

Some additional pics.
Received as 'raw' plates with bends. Had to tweak the angles and cut to shape for alignment. The angle of incidence is about 17 degrees.
