Donor Auction won...

Since you are there, I would. You can do the fuel filter once you transfer it to the goblin, unless you want to do it now with everything else you are doing.

The Goblin won't use the air filter or the cabin filter.

True, but it has been sitting for a long time. I imagine that cabin is pretty stale smelling. I'll change the cabin filter with a carbon laiden filter and stick one of these into the housing to freshen it up a bit as I plan to drive the car for the next nine months or so before I start my Goblin build.

And I don't want to find out there is crap in the filter by sucking it up into the Supercharger! For $30, if I am going to open up the filter box to check it, I am going to go ahead and replace the filter.

Oh okay, I had no idea you were going to drive it for a while first. I just made an assumption that it was going to straight to pieces.

How can I tell whether what is there is the updated tensioner or the "old" tensioner?

How would I know if the Timing Guide bolt needs to be replaced?

Rttoys explained the Dorman bolt.

In the below pic, the old tensioner is on the right, and needs to be replaced with the new tensioner on the left. They can easily be differentiated by the exposed hex-head end on them. The old one is flat, while the new one is thicker and has a raised part in the middle.

If you need a better reason than the urging of a bunch of forum strangers to replace the two items, know that I had to buy two donor cars for my Goblin project, and check out the pics in these posts, from my first donor's engine:

Perhaps I am a nincompoop, but my AllDataDIY login does not show me any connectors for my 08 SS/TC donor, except ECM1 and ECM2. Nothing about the BCM, or anything else. The wiring diagrams are there, so I've made due.

I've just signed up for my 09 SS/TC and I have all the BCM/ECM layouts.

it's in Diagrams > Connector Views > Body Control Module

Oh ok, yeah that's not good. I have mine for 09 SS/TC if you'd like to take a look but it's probably a lil different. Check my signature link for the BCM diagrams I have. The folder "09 SS/TC Pinout" is what you may want to check out.

Crazy mileage. Do you know how long it sat? You may opt to wait on transmission fluid until you're sure you won't be pulling the axles out as part of your engine prep. It's easy to do at any point though.

It hasn't been driven much since 2014. It was in the shop with 22k miles then and it has 29k now, so 7k in six years.

It was regularly maintained at the dealer till 2015. There are no records since and that entry doesn't show mileage.

It was donated to charity for auction. My guess, it was an older person's car left to family who donated it to his/her favorite charity.
