Donor Disassembly

M
Hello all! My name is Mike from San Diego. My donor is a 2010 SS/TC that was running prior to stripping the interior. My plan was to strip the interior, reinstall the driver's seat and still be able to pull it in and out of the garage. I reinstalled the seat but only get power to the accessories/dash/windows etc. Hit the ignition and nothing, not even a click like a dead battery. I'm assuming it's from removing one of (or multiple) sensors. Any ideas if this could be the case, and/or which one(s) could be the culprit?

Thanks
Mike

How stripped is the interior? It will need the Theft Deterrent Module (mounted on the ignition key cylinder), BCM and EPS. The data wires will still have to connect these up.

Beyond this check for fuses that may have been blown during disassembly.

We may need to know what all you removed. If you didn't remove anything pertaining to the ignition, BCM, CAN bus etc then I would think it should still start. Check and make sure you didn't inadvertently disconnect a ground somewhere...

Off the top of my head the sensors I can remember pulling are seat, airbag, seatbelt, center console and the light sensor on the dash. I'll have to check it out tomorrow but good call on the clutch switch!

The turbo cars have a Reconfigurable Performance Display (RPD). It is one of the things the GM high speed LAN data bounces thru, if left disconnected, would stop the data flow.

Just to be clear, some of the turbo cars came with the RPD, but not all. I think the number that did may have been fairly low since they don't get talked about on here very much.

Thanks! I was really scratching my head on that one! If it is tied into the H/S LAN It is trouble when not connected! Between grounds and the LAN's I think they are the source of most mystery problems. I've got to check the H/S LAN on the unit I'm working on, we tried starting the other day and got nothing. It's so easy to check at the Diagnostic plug.
