Of course on the highway my fuel pump decided to go out. Pushed the car a few hundred feet to a small pull off. Waiting on the tow now so I can use my newly found day off to replace the fuel pump

Turned out to be even easier… just the fuel pump fuse. Keeping an eye on it and have some spares now.

Is there an upgrade in case this is a symptom of a future problem with the pump, or do most people stick with the OEM?

In my experience, when the fuel pump fuse start popping, it's a warning the pump is getting close to complete failure.
Is it the original pump that came from the donor car? Or did you install a new one during your build?

The running joke we used when we had intermittent blown fuses at the dealership was “ah, we’ll just put this 30A circuit breaker in here and good to go” but seriously don’t try that. Lol

im staring to prepare for that, since I hopefully have a small amount of time to prepare, I was trying to find out if there is an upgrade or if the stock is the best bet for under 400hp applications.

So I assume the low pressure pump went out? You need to check fuel pressures, both high and low to confirm. But I don’t think It’s likely that you will need an upgraded low pressure pump. And I’m not sure there is a simple drop in upgrade.
