Front half of the goblin

Joebob
What do you mean front half, mechanical or electrical? Different trims will have different hubs in 4 or 5 lug. Master cylinder and brake pedals should interchange but may have different sensors. Steering interchanges but Sports and SS have less travel but the same ratio. Electrical (ignition, throttle, guages, BCM, ect) should have matched electronics all from the same car to work.

Both, I have a 07 cobalt with a turbo conversion, but rather sell it for more money and get a cheaper donor if I’m not guna use the motor

Share a bit more on your plan. Assuming you will get an engine harness and ECU with the engine swap, you still need the body harness of a Cobalt to run all the lights, gauges, ect as well as the fuse block that ties the two together.

Was planning on running a fueltech and doing my own wiring harness etc,

I’m most likely just get a junked cobalt ss and just strip it down normal and take what I need and sell the rest

Ya I was tryna find the cheapest way cuz it’s also more for a tc or sc kit on the website
Wondering where you are, I am near Columbus GA and have a connections on Cobalts and likely donors. I am needing body parts for a Cobalt, always looking to help especially when it could help me too! Though if you are beyond the SE US I'll likely not be much help.

New Jersey, there’s acouple donors I have my eye on near me, but if I can’t find one ima just use mine I have now,

I'd look really hard at N/A SS's with the 2.4 engine. I believe Their short coming is their rods IIRC. Maybe rods and pistons? All Eco-Tec blocks are strength wise generally the same; the Porosity problem blocks have all probably hit the shredder by this point in any unit/car's life! I'm sure there are some out there but it seems like if any unit had that problem I'd bet it has been scrapped, it would be easy to see or it has been fixed. There is a Goblin doing a "Pine Mountain Hillclimb" somewhere in the Appalachian's with a turbo 2.4. If you are going Turbo w/ engine computer stand alone the 2.0 is better covered but there is never any replacement for displacement. I'm not getting much happy info on the F35's, they work well but are getting rarer by the day! Folks are testing the waters of an LSD in a T23. The unit is quite common and meeting with success, or the F40 6 speed.

I plan on getting out the ecotech platform, this is why I don’t need their motor
Well if you are going down that path IMO any Cobalt will do! Every car has to have the basics and The DF Goblin has already whittled down the operating systems of the Cobalt well, giving you a platform that holds and pumps fuel, a basic electrical system, cooling, lights, blinks, stops, steers and signals; all on a frame to build your Honda K mobile. Goblin front end is all new construction and you'll likely use new struts/springs on the rear. With parking brake system conversion I see little need to start with an SS car.
Can anyone point to an advantage to starting with an SS rather than a base model? I don't mind finding out I've miss- or underestimated the needs in this idea. That sort of thing can only help me in the future.

I wouldn't even start with a cobalt, just buy new parts, or hit the junk yard.

Steve, all the systems have got to revolve around something, a fuse box at least. Personally I dislike there is a BCM in the middle of my project but I haven't got the bandwidth to weed it out and refine these systems one at a time. But I am also keeping my Cobalt body, so many of my needs are mine alone!
Maybe a Hot Rod wiring harness from Painless or American Autowire? Not sayin' it can't be done but I'm not slaying the particular beast.
Going the J/Y route you need a feed for the P/S and a dash board. A hardened fuse panel would help; the Cobalt fuse panel system is in an engine compartment and designed to thwart the elements somewhat. But Pelican cases come in many sizes and silicone sealant can be a great friend.
All in all this IS stuff I am interested in, but GOB-BALT has got to be a running car first!
