V1 Harness Length Tolerances?

I'm working to combine the main and dash harnesses [06 SS/SC donor for reference]. I've tried to maintain the taping lengths listed in the videos, but some sections of wire are running short. As an example, the gauge cluster calls for 7+ inches. I'm at slightly under 7 inches in taped length, and the bundle is 1-1.5" short of the branch point/line on the template.

How forgiving is the finished, taped harness? Will an inch either way cause fitment issues when it comes time to install it into the chassis? Can I separate out the gray BCM plug trunk from the others, or is that undesired for the build?

I think you should be fine. I had a lot of zip ties to hold up and secure the extra. I will say I thought the only places that were tight were the BCM plug routing to get to the tunnel and my brake switch plug. everything else had enough wiggle room to shift around to fit. each length is not locked in but just helps position the main bundle to the tubing with lengths to go to each component. the bundle can shift left or right as needed.

If you would have before I would have recommended going a little longer than the videos use. Some of mine wires barely reached. The gauge cluster on mine is probably the shortest of all. I don't know if I messed up a little or what but any shorter and it wouldn't work.
