Headlight options...

Desert Sasqwatch
JW makes some nice stuff, but it is pricy. The paired lights are cool. Are the high beam and low beam swappable side to side so the can be a mirrored set to mount on a Goblin? Either choice will look good. :)

I may take a different approach and do something totally custom fabricated with some factory vehicle assemblies. Gotta do some research.

Custom fabrication is good, there are some others on the forum who have done this successfully. I'm planning to go old school with chrome dominators - LED upgrades per Lonny's recommendations - along with chrome tail lights, turn signals, mirrors, plus anything else that I can get in chrome. :D

Are you going to chrome powdercoat your frame too?

I tried really hard to come up with something like what was on a Plymouth prowler and my talent ran short. I still think this would be the cats meow to accomplish.

Lol The Plymouth Prowler. I worked at a Chrysler dealership when those came out and I they sent me to the class.

I am at two options as of now...

I debated on taking a small-car housing and developing a way to fit it on the Goblin. The idea I like the best is a standard 3 pod housing using 90mm projectors. Will take some trial/error fabrication, but I love bending metal and welding. I may go that route.

Those are JW Speaker model 93M.

They are out of stock in a place or two as I think they are an older design. JW Speaker does sell that bezel mount seperately as well as the 90mm lights. These are literally top of the line, best money can buy, quality-wise.

I really like the Arial Atom triple pods from Skunkwurks in UK. (hi-low-fog?) I’m just not a fan of carbon fiber. I am **** near bent on designing a custom fab mount similar to this out of sheet metal, just because it would be an insane challenge.

Has your construction foreman approved this? 'Dad, why do you need to spend sooo much time making headlights? Can we go out for some ice cream?' :D
Making a set of triples would really unique and add to that Star Trek cool factor you have going!

Thanks! If my Dominator 2 headlights don't pass inspection, I may have to go with these, but they'll cost more than my wheels!

I looked all morning for projectors that would be small enough to mount in a custom triple housing, but size-wise it looks like it will end up looking too bulky. I am also trying to build this car using as little Chinese crap as possible. I am back to considering the 93M’s. I think quality wise and brightness they are about as good as it gets.

I could still build a partial housing for those that incorporates a mini fog and have a bit better fitment.

lol. i Always liked the lines of the car, especially the hood, but not a Chrysler fan. I was hoping to make something smooth to our “hood” for the headlights, just like it though. It’s just a bit further out of my skill set though.

I went through a ton of “headlights” online trying to find something different that would work well. Harley Davidson headlight stuff is a good place to start if you want round They are dot and can be had with turn signals in them, but are “HD” or (several) hundred dollars.

www.carid.com is a worm hole you can get sucked into to find lights. I bought these to make something happen with them. I thought the price was a little high for “light bar“ type leds, but holy crap, the wiring harness is overkill. They don’t appear to be china lights at all. The separate side lights will be my run/turn signals. they are controlled with separate wring.

Used these on a project at work, super bright, very good pattern. Expensive.

Used these as well, good product, lots of beam patterns, cheap!

I’m looking at these with the 5 3/4 drag specialties bucket, but **** they are pricey!

Also looking at the 93m’s

I’m gonna have to mull this one over a bit... I really don’t wanna skimp on headlights though.

I would be careful with some of the JW speaker stuff. The 863x series lights have firmware issues (Confirmed by JW) and their warranty process is horrible. I ended up returning a set of 8632 headlights due to multiple issues. Their documentation is lacking and in some cases just plain wrong. That said, the physical build quality was just plain awesome. Just wish they worked right.

I really want a set of the 93M headlights (note, they are sold individually @ ~$350 each, not as a pair), but would like to know if the front position light is amber or white. Has any one else purchased the 93M's?

Yeah, I am getting a sketchy impression from them as their distribution chain is a little wierd and their ship dates are way out. Hard to find much in the way of reviews.

I may look into the Eagle lights as their assemblies all carry lifetime warranties and much cheaper. I just sent them an email and they responded in less than five minutes.
