I know this has probably been asked before but what’s the difficulty in converting a TC/SC engine into an auto for an AT build??

Can I just source an auto transmission and bolt it up??

There will be more to it than that lol. Auto's come with a TCM (Transmission Control Module) and the accompanying wiring for starters.

TC HHS’s seem quite rare though. A quick search from where I am shows no SS models.

What about buying an already auto donor and an TC/SC or 2.4 NA engine separately. Will I not have enough of the auto parts to mate them together?

If you want an automatic. what you said above is most likely the easiest route. But it is not just bolt up and go. There is cooling, wiring, belt issues that is just a few items off the top of my head.

I'm currently adding a SC to my 2.2 NA.

I would say yes. But If your looking to go fast and hit some sporty, twisty roads I would not recommend the all terrain goblin.

The speeds that the AT will hit flying around on dirt will likely be less than 50 mph but you could easily hit over 100 mph on a road course.

The AT has very soft suspension compared to the goblin and it sits up in the air.

100 mph in an AT would be terrifying.

Our AT is a stock 2.2 and while driving it I am never wishing for more power.

I feel like more powerful engine would be better suited for a street goblin.

Now that being said, I would love to have a supercharged AT, it would be a monster.

So is supercharging an already auto engine the easier way to go?
Not sure how to answer that. My car was a 2.2 NA 5 speed. I do not see supercharging or adding a turbo that hard either way. But like I said it is not plug and play. If you have to have an automatic then your choices are :
Find a 2.4 auto car
Add a turbo or supercharger to a 2.2 NA auto
or Do the home work on adding an automatic to a SC/ TC car
