I have a 2006 Cobalt SS Supercharged. It's been with me through many ups and downs and has been upgraded from 215whp when I first bought it, to ~300 whp in its current state. (ported SC, 2.7 pulley, dual pass, intake, midlength header, custom exhaust, 80# injectors, 2 steps colder plugs, and tuned on E85. Tranny mounts and suspension too, but that's for better launches, not for power)
It is an incredibly fun car and I've been looking for a while for the next evolution along the journey. I think the goblin will be a positive move for my machine.
We have other vehicles and the Cobalt is mostly just sitting now. And I live in Houston, where you are slow if you have less than 500 to the wheels. The Cobalt was kind of a big fish in the little pond where I built it. Which was Ogden, Utah. You were the king with 300hp. Now, my car is more of a "cool to have around" car that everyone loves to see, but once they've seen it, "meh".
I have two little girls and I would love to have them help me with a project like this. Plus, they loooove to go fast! Lol.
And I definitely want to turn this thing into a track-ready machine. I would love to give feedback to the goblin production crew and owners on how to make it even better. I'd love to show videos on this forum with how my goblin did on track day. I can't wait to see a race-prepared Camaro wiggling it's tail about trying not to let me pass.
Yes, I've got big dreams for the goblin. But I can't buy one yet because my wife and I are trying to buy a house first. Once we do, though, the goblin is the next big project. You guys have to stay busy until then, please! Let me know what I can do because I really want to build one of these!
I'm posting this from my phone and it won't let me post a picture, I'll get one up on here as soon as possible. I'm also kain35m on cobaltss.net so you can see my car there.
