New guy here

2 summers of driving, and the stock DF floors are working fine. If you want a certain look, then customize it. If you don't want extra weight (like me) then leave it alone, it is fine.

If you or people that ride with you insist on stepping in the car and putting all of their weight on the floor in front of the seat, then you might want to. I have a way of getting in that I never even touch the floor. I rest my right leg in the car and then reach behind me with both hands and rest on the seat sides and with my arms lower my body into the seat. But others want the confidence of a solid floor and I can understand that.

So I have been reading EVERYONES build logs. Seems like some people are welding in plates in the foot well and others are not. Is this something that should be considered for stepping in and out of the car?
There is a flatbar that is mounted on the underside that supports the floor sheet at that point. It does a good job. I have not had any issues.

Some have chosen to reinforce the area. Nothing wrong there. Some have added carpet or rubber mats also - good idea too.
