Hey guys,

Just figured I'd drop in and say hi. I've been lurking around on here for a little bit, and reading some build logs. I have to say, you guys are creative! I've seen some nice work, and everyone seems pretty resourceful and also willing to help out their fellow builders.

No Goblin yet for me, but I'm seriously considering a build. It really looks like it'd be a fun project. I might have some stupid Cobalt-related questions along the way, so bare with me on that. Lol. I see a fair amount of you guys have owned those cars in the past, which obviously helps. I've never had one, so I've had to do some extra research when I see you guys talking about something.

I work for a machine shop, and have access to everything after hours (lathes, mills, waterjet, wire EDM, welders, etc). I'm sure that will come in handy as it doesn't look like anyone builds it exactly as they come from DF.

Anyway, just thought I'd say hi.

Mark

You are already in a better position than me with access to that stuff. You don't needed to know a thing about a Cobalt to get started, I didn't. You will pick up along the way.

It's a fun and rewarding project, that is for sure!

Welcome! Ask away, no question is too 'stupid' to ask, since it seems someone on the forum always has an answer or knows where to direct you to find one. Make sure you read as much as you can about the builds and look into the issues that are addressed in the specific forum subject sections. This will give a good idea of what kind of Goblin you would like to build - normally aspirated (NA), supercharged (SC) or turbocharged (TC). As you may have seen and will definitely read about if you have been keeping up with latest posting threads, findings some donor cars is getting more difficult. Any way you go when you pull the trigger, you will have a great experience - as I am finding out since joining in February. Good luck and happy donor hunting.

Welcome Mark....this is one awesome community! I am just south of Dayton, so not too far from ya. Will pick up Chassis 126 in the next few weeks....Lonny and Adam at DF are using mine as the fab work for a F40 transmission solution, so real stoked about seeing the finished product!
