Hey everyone!
Figured I would introduce myself properly. My name is Alfred, I am 37, located in NorCal and currently in school to become an RN. I actually just sold my C6 ZR1 a few weeks ago but wanted something cheaper and fun to take the kids in on the weekends. My mechanical knowledge working on cars is pretty surface level, so this is all very new to me but excited to learn with time.
Now onto the Goblin! I purchased #243 from Randy, which was originally built by member dastrups. When it was delivered, I have to admit I was pretty overwhelmed just by it overall...so much exposure that I am not used to (my ADHD was going haywire) but very anxious to see how it felt driving one for the first time. I have logged about 45min between a few rides around town and the connection with the car is unreal, you literally feel and hear everything. I haven't really pushed it as I am taking my time with it but after my short driving time all I know is this...I had a crap ton of fun haha. I have already done a few things in order to give myself some more daily driving comforts below.
-Planted brackets + NRG 208 seats to replace the Kirkleys as they aren't the most comfortable for me or my kids
-Ordered a shade from Shadeidea to give me some cover from the sun, especially right now in Sacramento
- Removed the side panels in hopes it cools me down a bit, as I was very sweaty after each drive lol
Next on the list is getting it retuned for 91 octane (it's currently tuned for 93), then tackling registration. One thing at a time though.
Overall really happy with the purchase and looking forward to putting my own touches on it along the way. Any other tips, suggestions or advice, I am all for it so please it my way!
