Got the engine in and started wrestling the charge pipes on. This band clamp started pinching up before it was tight. Should I have lubed them up or something before I started wrenching on them? Is there a different style clamp that would be better here?View attachment 41816
Thanks! I ordered some higher quality clamps. I just don't like the way it looks or trust it to not leak under pressure, especially since the DF supplied hard pipes don't have beads on them. You'll probably want to smoke test after you're done anyway, you'll see if it matters then. Make sure you look around your map sensors during this test also. Love this build btw
I think you're right on the brake fluid reservoir wire, thanks! The boost gauge is already hooked up, so the white one is for something else. Does the daylight sensor go somewhere, could it be for that?I think the white one is for the boost gauge. The other one maybe the brake fluid reservoir (not sure here, just guessing)
DF did the harness work.Did DF do your harness thinning? Looks like the trunk release button, but that would normally be thinned out. Probably in this video...
Here is the day light sensor.
Yea, I was hoping to have it done for goblin fest this year, but time is running out so I'm not sure if that's going to happen. Hard to get much done when you only have the weekends and spend half the time running to the hardware/parts store LOLThe new tube subframe and rear suspension look great! The geometry correction is very noticeable for the anti-squat/lift. Definitely shed quite a few pounds from the rear of the car. Can't wait to hear how well it works! You may have to do a side-by-side comparison for handling - slalom speed, skidpad g-test - against another 'stock' Cobalt suspension Goblin. I'd be curious to see how much improvement you gained.
Just Wow! That is quite a tidy re-design! The forward control arm pick up point is awesome! I find it tough to work within the box and some folks make it look so easy!! I.... Hate.. those guys!(JK!)The new tube subframe and rear suspension look great! The geometry correction is very noticeable for the anti-squat/lift. Maybe some kind of stabilizer struts on the bolt on radiator extension? I've never seen a kit un- assembled, so really just guessing! Mebbe sumpthin' to do with waings an' thangs?Knocked out a few things today -Brake reservoir relocation, headlight, mirrors and button panel wiring, vacuum, vent and fuel lines ran.
Moved to the back and realized I didn't get the DF supplied bracket for the shifter cables
While searching for the shifter cable bracket, I saw these, anyone know what they're for?
