V1 VVT disabled?

Has anyone run a VVT motor with the VVT not hooked up or disabled? Or put a VVT motor in a car using a pre VVT wiring harness w/o VVT connections? I have several 2.2 motors lying around! Most VVT(I think?) I expect I will be shoving one of them into a body(something I find/buy after I am back) this spring to have transportation during my “work time”. It’ll be cheaper than a rental car for 2 months!........I may buy a pickup instead? My enabler can sell it when I depart in the summer.

I think it will physically run, but I'm not sure if the ECM will like it and may throw codes. And the various sensor connectors may be different.

05,06, 07 were a little different and had a cover over the plugs. I’m not near one to look at but they are wired different under that cover. I’m getting garage(home) sick. ;) LOL
