For me it's all about the build. looking at what others have done and coming up with some crazy (and not so crazy) ideas to try - and hopefully succeed at - on my Goblin build. If I see something I think can be improved I give it a try, if it doesn't work then try something else. In the end my Goblin will be very different than any other Goblin and will have the features that I want, then I can spend my time enjoying my work and having fun with the ricers and overly loud posers in their bought not built cars. ;):cool:

Not to deviate too far off topic but I get a kick out of all the modded cars running around town that have a “built not bought” sticker on them and 90% of the time they only have bolt on mods

I was able to install the fuel tank and front suspension today.

Tried to install the SC front brake kit today. Rotors, calipers and hoses fit fine. The front pads supplied in the kit are incorrect. They fit loose in the caliper and do not properly fit the rotor either. Part # on the box is worn badly. I sent email to DF hoping they will correct this issue. Anyone else run into this? Also on the last photo can anyone tell me where these small black clips go on the front brake kit? Thanks. TW

Not sure myself. The rotor can't be too much larger in diameter it will hit the caliper. The pads can be moved up and down over a 1/4" when in the caliper and tension clips.

Didn't see that, you're right. If the pads can move that much, then those are not the correct pads.

HP has a website, but it doesn't have a search function to determine where the 25809846 PN pads are used.

Pretty sure those black steel clips are wear tabs that squeal when the pads wear down. I'd bet a dollar on wrong pads. Maybe mis-packed? I imagine the caliper doesn't fit over them and bolt down. We can easily see rotor size is limited by the caliper holder! Those have to be the wrong pads, just a similar design. I'm raising my bet to $2! ;)

Adam just got back to me. Their supplier puts the incorrect pads in the box for them. He is shipping me the correct ones. :D
I suspected as much. Many single piston pad designs share the same end tab to end tab dimension but they get taller for more swept area. Multi pistons and then they get longer and sometimes taller.

Correct pads came today. I finished up front brakes. I really like the brake hose clamps. I installed the steering wheel and drivers seat so I can mock up my dash panel. I plan on having Tach, Speedo, Boost, Oil Pressure, Water Temp, Volts, Fuel level and Clock. Cardboard lets me make a few variants till I find one I like.

Thumbs up! See you have a dash panel CADBoard with separate gauges. Assuming you are not using the Cobalt panel, what brand gauges will you be installing? Compatible with the BCM?
The gauges are Summit digital. No BCM. I will be using a stand alone harness for the Engine/Transmission from Swap Specialties. I will use their large weather proof fuse box to wire everything else with my own wiring harness. This allows me to use a GPS speedo amoung other neat aftermarket stuff. Stay tuned, LOL. ;)

While I am waiting on my harness and PCM to get here I decided to install X-Mat on the floor and black carpet that is used on all MK4 kits. It can stand getting wet and dries out very fast. Ask any Cobra replica FFR guy, LOL. ;)

This will be my last post for about 7 weeks. I am leaving Monday on a vacation camping trip along the East coast all the way to Bar Harbor Maine. I was able to install the tow bar stuff as well as lay out the Stand alone harness I got back from Swap-Specialties. I did install the harness on the engine. I have a few issues to work out with Swap-Specialties. They installed the wrong ETC sensor connector and wrong O2 sensor connector. I am waiting to hear back from them. For the most part I like their work. I had them not cover the engine wiring as I wanted to use my own stuff for that and lay out the harness similar to stock.
