2024 Locost Gathering

I wanted to invite the Goblin group to the Locost Gathering again. The current plan is to base this year out of Harrison AR. I will be heading down to scout the routes on March 4th and 5th. I will post the routes and details after I get back. I am looking at either May 16-18 or June 6-8, but leaning toward May. The British car club out of Springfield MO may join us for part of it as they were also planning to drive these same roads in May. Lots of good roads in AR including the Pig Trail and the Jasper Disaster. Also some good lookout points and water falls we may be able to use as good points to stretch the legs.

We are on for May 16-18 in Harrison AR. Please let me know if you can make it, what days, and if anyone will be joining you so I can let the restaurants have a count. As before we will have short drive on Thursday, Long drives Friday and Saturday and short drive on Sunday for those that can stick around. We will driving at least part of the well known Pig Trail, the Jasper Disaster and the Arkansas Dragon.

I will finalize the routes based on the scouting and post the final agenda. I personally cant wait to get my car down on these roads. They were a lot of fun in a daily driver and can only imagine how fun they will be in a Seven.

Sounds spectacular. tentatively put me down for 3. i am scrambling to dot my I's and cross T's. i missed the last 5 years and this is on my bucket list. . . so. . .

Is there some sort of group lodging to be planned for? or will it be more of get there and arrange a meet up somewhere later on?

Due to the distance and having both a goblin and a stalker I would likely bring my race trailer behind my F-350- while scouting out the places can ya pretty please keep an eye out for a place that would not mind a fairly large rig?

For anyone going, please send me a PM so I can send you the latest route maps. Agenda is below. Harrison is a little bigger city than we normally use a base of operations so instead of everyone meeting at a hotel, we are going to meet on the outskirts of town. it will be a lot easier than trying to keep the group together driving through Harrison. With this in mind I didn't pick a specific hotel for everyone to stay at. I am a cheapskate (probably one reason I built a Locost) and will stay at the Super 8.

Super 8 does have a nice lane on the left for parking trucks with trailers.

Hampton has a nice lane on the right for trailer.

Days Inn has a nice open parking lot beside the hotel and we will be going to the restaurant on the same parking lot on Thrusday.

We are a week out. As usual, I cant seem to get the weather to cooperate. A little rain to start off but it does get better as the weekend progresses.

Things are not looking very good for the Nebraska contingent. The Goblin and OLDB1 will not be showing- since the Gobin has no paperwork/plates and currently missing back wheels. The Stalker is ready to go- I think (not much opportunity to test drive much in the current weather). I also still have not heard back from my former shop kid if he is going to show for some ride-along.

For me to attend I will need to get my race hauler back down out of the sky and unloaded for some welding on the stabilizer jacks, if the rain and wind will cooperate- I am throwing dang near everything I have at getting these stubborn ducks in a row. Time is running very short.

So, in summary, please adjust my numbers to one car and one warm body. . . . tentatively.
