Bosch intercooler pump

Hello guys,

Does anyone recall what fuse protects the Bosch intercooler pump on SS/TC builds? I watched the build videos for a good hour and a half last night and was unable to find it .... but I did find that they recommend using the pink wire at position B2 on the gray fuse box connector.

Thanks in advance.

Think you have a blown fuse or something?

Assuming I'm not oversimplifying, have you tried probing for continuity from the pink wire to your different fuses in the box?

I was doing some spring prepwork on the car last night and noticed that there was no coolant visible in the intercooler loop (I have a T connector I can see through in the loop). I topped the loop off, it only took a little bit ... and then I thought to check the flow as well. With key-on, nothing was flowing. I didn't have enough time left last night to do much troubleshooting aside from pulling a couple fuses to check visually, but I did apply 12v and ground to the pump directly and it didn't run (it did make a quiet click noise, though), so I suspect the pump died at some point.

Next time I get some time in the garage, I'll start probing.

Eh, yeah maybe your pump just crapped out... I have worried about that at times with mine. Have wondered if there was air in the system or simply just a bit low could it drastically shorten pump life, instinct says yes but not sure.

With the hours that the pumps have to run, I would suspect it is the brushes that go out. I got a take off kit from a SS/SC and on bench inspection the pump didn't work, took apart and saw that the brushes were gone. Replaced brushes and all good.

Good to know. Bit of a different animal, but I have fixed a dremel replacing the brushes once before.

I did find out that wire B2 on fuse box connector X5 corresponds to a 10A fuse, "ABS 2", in the engine fuse box. However, that fuse is not blown, for me. The pump isn't bad either ... I tore it out of the car and ran it with 12v and a different pigtail that I had laying around, and it fired right up. So at this point, my intercooler pump wiring seems to be broken. The ground is good, but I see no voltage on the + wire.

I got around it by running another +/ign on wire from another unused circuit. Maybe one day I'll troubleshoot the existing wiring run, .... or maybe I'll just seal the old + wire end and call it a day.
