F23 to F35 Swap

I have a question? On a 2.4 engine can you swap a F23 transmission to a F35? If so what are the advantages and do you have to change anything or is it a direct swap?

Thanks,
Jeff

As far as I know.... so correct me if I'm wrong:
- The bell housing is the same bolt pattern
- The 2.4L has a Bosch ECU & a TCU, but you won't need the Transmission Control Unit for the standard transmission... so I am not sure how the ECU will handle not having the TCU.
- You will have to hook up the standard cables and shifter.
- The F35 transmission needs the Cobalt mount, and some bolt spacer parts.
- DF has done a F35 to F23 swap for Justin Reed... so they have some knowledge here.

I personally wouldn't advise the swap. The F23 has been proven over the years to handle more power than the F35.

So I guess my real question is what is the diffrence in a F23 vs. F35? And did the F23 ever have a limited slip in it?

Depending on what year the F23 came from, it can have a lower or higher final drive ratio than the F35 (also year dependent for comparison's sake). The Wikipedia pages for them detail these well:
F23: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Getrag_F23_transmission
F35: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/F35_transmission

I don't believe it was offered with a factory LSD, but you can have one put in for sure. Quaife offers one as well as lesser known companies.
Thank you Sir.

Here's some info on the swap from an F35 to an F23.

The F23's did not have an LSD
