Gauge/immobilizer issue

Occasionally while driving the rpm gauge will go between 0 rpm and the expected engine rpm. Fuel will read low. When this happens sometimes the immobilizer light will come on (yellow lock on cluster). Then if I shut it off when the immobilizer light comes on the car won't restart then will let me restart again after a minute or so. This is with a LNF donor. It seems like some kind of grounding issue or maybe a loose wire for the cluster but I'm not sure where to look first. The harness was modified by DF for the goblin.

The car drives fine but I'm worried about the immobilizer issue causing me to be stranded.

It is either the loss of a ground or possibly an intermittent open wire in the LAN communication wiring. Start with wiggling wiring at the gauge panel and ignition switch if it occurs again - may help narrow down were to start looking. See if there are any OBD codes posted. Make certain that all connectors are fully seated, especially the BCM connections, since the gauges and ignition both are routed thru it.

No real resin to expect the bad connection is at the instrument cluster. Just from how the connectors work I would expect Bcm area first.

I had the same issue and spacing the cluster a bit further solved it. My wiring harness to the cluster was pressing hard against the bar behind the cluster.

Found the issue, was a bad soldering job when I deleted the oem RPD and had to splice some wires together. However it seems my fuel gauge is still reading low. I think it might be the fuel level sensor going bad. Does anyone know what resistance values that sensor should have on a LNF and which pins to test on the fuel pump plug?
