Goblin #79 for sale in TN - Roadster Chassis SOLD

SOLD

Hey guys, I am not very active on the forum but I have regretfully decided to list my Goblin for sale. 2005 SS Supercharged 5 speed donor, about 140,000 miles on engine and trans. About 6,000 on chassis. Below is a copy paste of the ad I just wrote for FB Marketplace, obviously I assume most of the readers here already know about these cars so just ignore the baseline stuff. I am in Franklin, TN and asking $17,000 obo. You can reach me directly at [email protected] as I might be slow to respond here. Begin ad:

During build process it received a new clutch, throw out bearing, complete transmission service, and new spark plugs. Car has had several oil changes over last 6,000 miles. All new brakes including lines, calipers, pads, and rotors. Summer compound tires have less than 2,000 miles. Real carbon fiber spoiler with adjustable mount. Custom vinyl wrap done by Label Graphics company. ZZP upgrade package installed with larger injectors, smaller supercharger pulley, headers, and ECU tune. It makes somewhere between 250-280 horsepower. Runs and drives great. The driving experience of this car is unbelievable. I have had the car on track and on Tail of the Dragon. Experienced driver recommended, it is very capable. Titled as a "Lotus Replica" in the state of TN, clean and clear ready to transfer to new owner in any state. It will not pass smog as there are no cat converters. Insured as a DF Goblin. It goes without saying that this car is not for everybody. Buyer should be mechanically minded, although this is not a "project" car. It is complete and thoroughly tested, ready to hit the road right now. The only issue on the car is an occasional glitch that puts ECU into reduced power mode. Code reads TPS sensor, both throttle pedal and throttle body have been replaced without permanent fix. Resetting battery (about 15 seconds) will clear this code and car functions normally. This issue could be fixed with more troubleshooting.

Hate that you are letting this Goblin go! I love the look and wrap on this car. I think its a great price for sure and i'm sure you'll find a buyer quickly for it.

I didn’t think there were any Goblins this close to me. Good looking car. If you don’t sell soon maybe we could meet up.

I know this isn't a troubleshooting thread, but I had this same issue (2007 SS/SC, manual). It ended up being a bad solder joint in one of the 6 wires between the pedal and the TPS. I bought a 6-conductor bundle of wires off amazon for dirt cheap, and ran the new wire bundle through the tunnel (pulled it through with a fiberglass rod). put on new pedal/TPS connectors, and you're good to go. The whole fix was less than an hour, probably $30 total, and the error hasn't come back.

Good luck with the sale. It's hard to believe it's only worth $17k...clearly more fun than any other $17k car out there.

Me too, I hate to sell it but these days it sits more often than not. Lots of interest on FB but mostly people are just curious as to what it is, haha. I appreciate your love for the wrap! It is probably my favorite thing about the car.

This is awesome info. I was chasing my tail on what else to do. I'll give this info to new owner when it's time if I don't get around to fixing it myself. Thanks!

I had the exact same issue and Chubbs fix also fixed my problem. It also only took maybe two hours to fix but I had to pull my seats as I didn't have a wire fish. I do now so this job would have been super easy.

Anytime you fish a wire through something, add a pull string for next time. And pull another string if you use the existing one.

This one probably has the best bet of being retitled in NM with the least effort since the current title is as a replica. I think this is a category most states have.
