Now that's a go-kart! Type 4 engine, 904 transmission, Type 1 front beam and (looks like) swing rear - dang, that is a seat of the pants racer!

The guy just bought it. He was the one in a LS swapped bmw that ran with us last year. Blew the engine, so he bought that. :D It was a very simple build, as in, everything was about as super simple as you could get it. He was a couple of seconds slower than us, which I figured he would be the same or faster.

Not the best day at autocross for me. Broke an axle on the first run. :( I didn’t get to test any of the cool new parts. Jason let me drive his for his last 3 db runs. Theres a big difference in power delivery between super charged and turbo charged . Here’s the vid of breakage

I broke my axle the exact same way this past weekend at autocross. I just installed the new subframe and just before the event and didn't realize how far it stretches the axle on the driver side. Has anyone else been having axle issues with the new subframe?

Edit: Spoke with lonny and he said the heims are essentially supposed to be turned all the way in. My arms must've warped at powder coating and i was only able to get the holes to line up spinning the heims out a bit. I'm gonna need to pry or use a porta bar or something to get them lined up

Edit after looking at my goblin again: The “shortest” I could get it was all the way in on front inner heim, then move the rear one out till it matched the hole. Go all the way in on the outer, or even taking off the jamb nut to get it 3/4” closer.

plus, make sure your engine/trans is centered in the frame Properly.

I wasn’t sure how to adjust so I adjusted both the inboard heim joints equally until the bolts would go in and adjust the outboard heim joint all the way in. Granted we have not put a lot of miles on the L61/f23 but so far so good

I threaded the joints in and then unscrewed the inner joints just far enough (equally) until the bolts went through the holes. I didn't see another way to get things to line up. And like most things here, it didn't come with any sort of instructions or guide. I figured the less thread showing, the stronger the joint, but you still have to make it fit, no?
