Soooooooo today was interesting. 80% chance of rain all day, but *should* be able to get a few good dry heats in. We worked 1 and ran 3. 1 was dry and sunny, about 70°. Heat 2 rain and sun and rain and sun. So we get to heat 3. Sunny ish and a sprinkle track is totally wet and flooded in some spots. Made 1 run and down pour. Then lightening which stopped us. We loaded up and was about to go and they called back to run. Screw it, we are already wet, let’s go. Made 3 more runs and called it a day. Got stopped again after 4th run. Heard 4th didn’t even happen.
Here’s some pics and vid

Pretty good for as wet as the track was. Hopefully no electrical gremlins from all of the water? Nothing like a good soaking to make an excuse to get everything washed up after having fun.

No XU on the car yet?

At the end of the 4th run, it seem to cut out on me when I gave it some good throttle, but that was it so far. I have a patient pending foam block I put in the bcm area to keep it dry. I guess it worked.

not yet. The jury is still out. Kind of depends on what some other guys do (non goblin guys)

You are so much more brave! I am covering my car in the rain and wait until it passes. To scared that I damage something in the electronics. Even I love driving in the rain!

Great comment at second 17 :D

What is your suspension setting judging from the video you are max 3 clicks from soft?

That was actually the first time I have driven it in the rain in 4 1/2 years since completion. it did way better than expected.

where there was major ponding, every time you hit one, was like hitting a brick wall. o_O

yes. I was probably 3-4 clicks from full soft. Not really by design though. Bill and I went to a place to get our cars annual tech’d for autocross on Saturday. I was going to drive mine, so I was on street settings. It rained that morning, so I put it in the trailer and went. When we were getting ready to get on grid on Sunday, bill was asking about tire pressure, which reminded me to dump some air. I totally forgot to change shock settings, but I probably would have left it as it was anyways.

Haha. It wasn’t like “ya, let’s go make the goblin a jet ski”. It was more of an insane progression. We knew rain was in the forecast, but that happens and it was only showing about 1/4” at best. Track was 80-90% dry for setup, heat 1 and some of heat 2. When it rained in heat 2, it rained hard, but was fairly quick. The track was wet and had puddles, then when our heat 3 staged, it was raining.……….and started more and more……..it’s time to run…..so well, we are in it now. o_O Then it just got worse. Even a delay for lightening. We got our 4 runs and called it quits, leaving the db runs on the table.

What a fun day today. Ever have one of those days that’s just one of those days? Yep. That was today :Do_O

We worked second heat and ran 4th heat. Weather was picture perfect

When we worked heat 2, it was a sh!t show. Lots of cones, chatter, spins you name it. Then we run on heat 4. It started like this.

Then luckily ended like this
