Hmm, all good ideas. I just found the keys on ebay. But they come with an uncut blade. Until I find the original, no way that I can get the key cut. Without having a cut key, I don't think I can relearn the key.

I wonder if I could take the internals off the lock apart and make the uncut key turn the lock.

Not sure if this helps but I have two unfortunate key stories that may help you out.

Story #1 my kid threw away the keys to my 97 camaro, the dealer was able to cut a key off my VIN but I had to show them the title and my ID that matched the title.

Story #2. My 08 SS donor only came with a trunk key (same cut as ign but no chip) I argued with the guy at Ace hardware for a half hour to cut me a key and not program it since we couldn't without the original ign key. He finally gave in saying I was wasting $50. I took the unprogrammed key and ran it through the master key relearn process and have had no issues with it.

My best guess would be to see if a dealer can cut a key from your VIN and maybe do a relearn if they can't program off your vin if you still have your cobalt title.

Call a local locksmith and he will pick your ignition switch, then cut you a couple of keys and reprogram them at your house. if you have your Cobalt VIN then your dealer or any locksmith/key place can cut you a key. buy a new ignition switch an d it will come with a key replace then program key with re-learn procedure.

I believe you can disable VATS in the tune in a P12. It'll require getting key on-engine off to the PCM, but after that, you can wire up any kind of start button or key switch you want.

I would make a trip to the junkyard and get the column assy (most junkyards won’t sell the ignition lock) make sure it has keys. Remove and cut down ignition switch housing, install it and do the 30 minute relearn. You can fight the cylinder out of the housing which I used a flat blade screwdriver and a pick to excavate the old cylinder lock out. You’ll still need to learn the new key if you end up retaining the key lock

It seems to be possible. At least a setting is there.

You could bypass the ignition switch electrically, then do a key relearn to the new, uncut key.
To bypass the ignition switch, you could wire up a 4P4T 4 Pole 4 Position Switch, or maybe separate the Cobalt ignition switch from the key part.

The way I see it, I could just connect 1 to 3 and 4 with a simple switch. I think 1 to 4 is only off to save max power for the starter and shut off auxiliary devices. But since the Goblin doesn't have a lot aux devices, I think it would be ok. 6 to 5 is either on or on with a resistor in serial.

I wonder why this diagram shows that ke in ignition switch brings 12V to the 5V side. Is that an error in the diagram?

Trying to hack something until the keys arrive next week.

I have seen a few errors in the AllData wiring diagram for my car, so I don't always trust their electrical diagrams. You probably have found an error.

If you want to do spark tuning, you'll need to create a Math parameter for cylinder airmass based off of dynamic airflow. Unfortunately the P12 doesn't have a PID build in for the vertical axis of the spark table. Keep in mind though on an FI engine you'll probably reach peak torque before you start knocking, whereas on an NA motor typically they will start knocking before peak torque is reached.

I am attempting to set up my histograms for tuning the timing. I set up the math parameter as I do not see cylinder airmass (as mentioned). When i set the table up, it only populates in the 0.08 section and not the entire table. Any help would be greatly appreciated as always!

Here is what I have;

For the equation, I tried it with and without the spaces and it was no different....if that matters

Off the top of my head, Dynamic Airflow is red in the Math window because it's not an active channel being logged. I think if you add that channel you'll be good to go. Let me know if that doesn't make sense.

That would make sense why it can't populate data correctly. Thank you!
