Spaal cooling fans

Good morning from hot a humid Az. My goblin has been in the garage for a few months now. I believe Az is on the 80+ day over 100 degrees so no need to drive this vehicle and be more miserable. I've been wanting to upgrade the radiator cooling fan and intercooler fan now for a while, and figured now might be a great time to do it. I believe the fans included in the kit are pretty generic. I've been looking at Spaals website checking out cfm ratings, brushless motors etc. It's too hot out here to not have the best fans. Has anyone upgraded their fans? I'm not sure what the factory electrical system can support. I'm more of a plug and play kinda guy, so I thought I'd check before buying. Any thoughts would be appreciated
Thank you

I don’t know that I’ve driven mine above 100 degrees but I have done upper 90’s. Engine temperature went from normal 189 to 194. But my heat exchanger is mounted above the motor so nothing blocking the front air. I also didn’t spent much time in traffic, I wouldn’t spend the money unless you actually see a problem. You will likely overheat before the car does.

Unless you are seeing issues with IAT2 temps.

Anthony, have you had one of them fail? Guess it comes down to your priorities of price versus reliability and CFM capabilities. Out here we do know that a failed radiator fan will sideline a vehicle pretty quickly during this time of year (if you happen to be driving your Goblin) and may cause problems the rest of the year if stuck in traffic. I have personally used many Derale products - not as good as Spaal, but meets my ideals of price versus longevity. Go with your instincts and purchase what you think is right.

I haven't ever had a failure with the cooling fans. I did have a plastic bag cover a large percentage of the radiator one day going down the freeway and the temp climbed instantly. Clearly that's a blockage issue, but it's so freaking g got out here the more movement in my mind the better. Not to harp on other gob owners outside of Az, they don't really know the extent of the heat we put our cars through. It's different

I’ve had mine twice kick on the fan. Both were in upper 90 F degree heat sitting in traffic. I have my fan to come on at 200 F in HPT. When it hit 201 F I watched the temp steadily drop to 190 F. The stock fan does the job but if you feel better with more, it’s your build.

While driving the highest I’ve seen is 185 F and that was on a 99 F day.

The stock fans never made it on my goblin. I put the Spal 12” puller fan main rad SPA30101522 on mine from the get go. I ended Up using a Perma-cool 8” push or pull 19128 for the IC because I was sure if I wanted push or pull depending on what I was experimenting with.
