Underwriting approved insurance this morning. Grundy Insurance is covering the goblin valued at $20k with full coverage and zero dollar deductible at only $284 a year. There is not a hard set mileage limit but they were required to enter one, that is set at 4,000 miles a year. Hoping to get my ID cards shortly so I can go for a drive! With the time change this past weekend the sun is down at 5:30 and the nice days are coming to an end:(

I was absolutely shocked at the price I was quoted compared to Rally and Progressive. Rally was upwards of $1,000 a year and Progressive wanted $400 for 6 months. Hagerty wanted nothing to do with it but would insure it as long as the key was not in the ignition.

Is Grundy your normal insurance company or a different company you found somewhere?

No, Grundy is someone else. My current insurance, Erie, was not interested in covering it. I contacted a localish to me agent that I found on a cobra page and they got me set up.

Good to know as the wife and I also use Erie. Thanks and hopefully the next few days we get the title in the mail

Hagerty won’t touch us. Hell, they really won’t touch anything that’s not a parade queen.

I just tried to do an online quote from Grundy and it spit this back out. I wonder what I entered that was different from you.

"Thank you for your interest in insuring with Grundy Worldwide. We regret that based on the information you have submitted, we cannot offer you a quote at this time."

Find an independent agent or call. Lack of an online quote doesn't mean they won't insure. It can mean the computer was unable to slot it in. But there are differences in state laws that also make a difference in their ability to ensure.

As Gtstorey said, call an independent. I didn’t go directly through Grundy but they are the company my agent used. I can send you the contact info to the agent I used if you’d like to try. Not sure how insurance works using an out of state agent but can always try.

I was able to get out for about an hour today, I missed driving this thing but of course noticed a few things after my post storage inspection.

Gutted AC Compressor:
I gutted the compressor and installed a plate to seal it off. After crawling under the car I noticed that cover has left the chat. I was too excited with the nice weather so I did not mess with it too much. I just slapped some foil tape on it and called it good for now.

Has anyone removed the compressor with the engine in the car? It seems too close to the tank.

Fuel Tank Vent;
I noticed the residue of fuel initially while wiping dust off. It was made very apparent that this connection is leaking while I was filling up with gas. I had to barely squeeze the handle to allow gas to flow without the auto stop kicking it off.

The vent does not look to be plugged from underneath and I did not have this issue while filling up multiple times before storage. I will need to look into this further when I have time to take apart the vent. Plenty of rain and cold weather coming so it may be sooner than later.

Loss of Power;
This may not be able to be answered or the answer will become obvious once I get HP Tuners…BUT, While accelerating out of a round-about, I just shifted to fourth gear and hit about 10-12psi of boost and the car fell on its face. I was first worried that a fuel line busted or something crazy and pulled over. After everything checked out I continued driving home while taking it easy. Everything functioned correctly, the car still made boost, although I only saw about 8-10psi and wasn’t trying to go above, and the engine sounded fine.

Any advice? This one is making me nervous.

Any check engine light? Do you have an OBD2 scanner already or just waiting on HP Tuners?

The wife’s Goblin seems to like some fuel pump nozzles better than others but doesn’t give too much trouble most of the time refueling. Haven’t had any issues with the fuel tank vent yet either but ours looks like this

Just an OBD2 Scanner, I will pull codes tonight. The check engine light is always on with evap codes so I didn’t even think to look.

I may have to get some different hoses, I used the very thick poly provided in the kit. Maybe that is leaking after the cold weather got to it.
