Well, I’m glad that’s over:

(Don’t forget to solder these two dimmer wires together. I forgot, then had to reopen everything.)

Halfway done wrapping:

All done.

(Working on the floor sucked.)

I hope all of these harness leads are long enough.

I’ve been working on the engine (cleaning) while waiting for the kit to arrive.

Definitely not done (and I’m not sure the orange will match perfectly), but I’m very happy with the first few coats.

I think the orange will be great since it’s NA and won’t be covered up by any of those pesky TC/SC parts...

Didn’t like the Chevy “Hemi” orange, so I’ve spent the last few days in the shop getting it changed to plain Chevy Orange.

Also, the rest of the engine is now clean and painted. Nothing is torqued yet.

You can’t see the starter housing (also orange.)

Yes, I’ll probably upgrade the header, but for now it’s presentable.

Also, got the a/c delete belt installed:

Next up: engine harness reroute and wrap.

Just a few minutes tonight rerouting engine harness. I took the throttle body connector and the fuel injectors around the other side of the engine so as few wires as possible crossed the top of the engine.

I need to research the NA goblin intake so I know where to peel off the MAF harness. Likely won’t final-tape until it’s in the goblin....

Hey Andrew, was gonna ask, does the stainless steel brake lines replace all the lines in ur car or just the ones that go from solid line to the bendable line to ur brake caliper?

I think they go from the solid line all the way to the caliper. Straight from Adam:

  • Stainless braided brake hose kit - $165
    • Normally at the back of your Goblin you reuse your donor's front rubber hoses and we supply the rubber hoses for the front of the Goblin
    • Alternatively, you can buy the stainless braided brake hose from us. It replaces all 4 hoses.
He also sent me this picture.

I am pretty sure my UPS, Fedex, and mailman hated me at that point of the build. There were 3 or 4 packages showing up every day along with the girlfriends Primemnesia There were 10 boxes every day outside.
Eh, his truck just gets unloaded quicker since it's all at one stop. ;)

So last Saturday morning Lonny and his wife showed up in Wichita with five frames. After unloading Tim’s and Logan’s, they headed to my house to unload the other three.

How do you like my lawn ornaments?

After getting the frame in the garage and setting some of my tires in place...

This is so exciting.

You can always tell the excitement level as you are not the first to put raw tires up against the frame just to see what it looks like. Yes, it is exciting!

After another couple days, I have some of the components mocked up (chassis paint had not arrived, so everything is coming back off to be painted).

I did find a few missing pieces of hardware, so it’s been worth it so far.

Also, rolled the (now black valve covered) engine I place. Looking good in my opinion.
